An overseas industrial automation startup contacted Jingxin Precision earlier this year for their new production-line equipment project. They needed a batch of non-standard custom components, including equipment safety guards, mounting brackets and positioning jigs. Their project covered prototype verification, sample testing, followed by small-batch trial production.
The customer provided complete 3D drawings, containing both sheet-metal housing parts and high-load CNC-machined fixture components. Their main concerns were tight delivery schedule, assembly consistency across batches, and reliable surface finishing suitable for workshop operating environment.
Our engineering team first carried out a full DFM review for all drawings. We pointed out several potential risks: unreasonable bending clearance for large sheet-metal guards, sharp corners causing stress concentration on CNC fixtures, and suggested several optimized adjustments without changing customer’s original design intent. After client confirmed DFM feedback, we started prototype manufacturing.
Sheet-metal parts were finished via laser cutting, bending and welding. CNC-machined jigs adopted 6061-T6 aluminum alloy with hard-anodizing surface treatment. Every prototype piece went through full dimension inspection before delivery. We sent finished-part photos and inspection reports to the client, and shipped physical samples by international courier.
After receiving prototypes, the customer completed equipment assembly and functional testing. Minor modification requests came back based on real-world running feedback. Our production team quickly revised drawings and produced updated samples in short lead-time. Once all tests passed, the client placed formal small-batch order.
Many overseas hardware R&D teams face trouble: prototype factories can only make single-piece samples, yet cannot support follow-up small-volume orders, forcing clients to find new vendors and repeat communication work. This will waste time and raise project risk.
Our one-stop service covers DFM analysis, CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication, surface treatment, quality inspection and small-batch production. Customers only need to provide 3D files, and we handle the whole manufacturing workflow. This greatly reduces communication cost for overseas buyers.
This automation project is one of many similar cooperation cases. Jingxin Precision keeps focusing on serving global clients for custom prototype and low-volume manufacturing.
